"Where next, Lord?"

Have you ever felt like God stopped speaking to you? It feels like you're in the car and the sat nav has suddenly stopped speaking. It feels like you've lost your GPS signal or accidentally switched off the device.

That's exactly how I felt around the time that I started this blog. I spent lots of time on my own and the rest of my time speaking to my (understanding and very patient) friends who asked me the important questions:

"Have you prayed about this?"
"Are you sure that you're listening?"

I answered all of the above as I thought I should. "Where next, Lord?" I asked, riddled with anxiety. Although I had wonderful people around me, it was a very isolating period. I didn't know what to do next with my life and everyone else seemed to have an answer. It was like I'd taken a giant leap of faith and come crashing down to the ground, my face kissing the sand.

If we're honest, we've all felt a bit lost before - whether physically, emotionally or spiritually. It's neither fun or easy but be encouraged, God has promised to be with you always (Heb 13:5).

He was with Joseph in the dungeon...
Noah in the ark...
Moses and the Israelites in the Red Sea...
Jonah in the belly of the whale...

and He is with you.

If God is with you, trust me, He's speaking. Through the Holy Spirit, God is always speaking to us (1 Cor 2:9-12).

I kept telling my nearest and dearest that I didn't know what to do next, but family, I'd been instructed to write this blog over and over again! When I ignored God, He sent my parents, a string of my friends and even an advert that read: "Don't you think it's about time you started your own Christian blog?" Literally. Oh - and a stranger on the train.

See, you don't have to bear your soul to the world but you do have to be honest with yourself. Is there something on your heart that you just cannot seem to shake? Are you recognising a theme in your conversations? I implore you, listen to these prompts and pray about them. You can never pray too much, plus, it's 100% free!

What I've learned about God is, He only wants what is best for you (2 Chron 16:9). If you miss his directions, He still works things out for your good (Rom 8:28)!

However, there's a special joy that comes with walking in God's plan and I hope you get to experience what I'm feeling right now.
